The Copper Mark works with the producers of copper, molybdenum, nickel, and zinc.
In 2022, the Copper Mark deepened its collaboration with the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA), the International Zinc Association (IZA) and the Nickel Institute (NI) to make our assurance framework available to molybdenum, nickel and zinc producers.
Through this collaboration, we are promoting sustainable and responsible production and sourcing practices within the molybdenum, nickel and zinc value chains, while also promoting convergence around a core set of standards as defined in the Risk Readiness Assessment.
The collaboration is enabling molybdenum, nickel and zinc producers as well as value chain stakeholders to speak with a single voice on the importance of promoting responsible production practices and the need to promote sustainable development in the communities around which the industries operate.
Over the long-term, the collaboration is expected to create efficiencies for metal producers while seeking to amplify the impact of each metal industry’s activities regarding responsible production.
With this collaboration, the commodity associations expect to significantly reduce administrative burdens, minimize costs and provide a mechanism for copper, molybdenum, nickel and zinc producers to meet market expectations as well as growing regulatory requirements.
